Stoke City's assistant manager Peter Reid is set to leave the club to become the new man in charge of Plymouth Argyle.
The 53-year-old joined City just under a year ago, but the Potters have always insisted that they will not stand in Reid's way if a manager's job became available.
City chairman Peter Coates confirmed:"It's really a matter more for Tony Pulis than for me, but I think it's fair to say Tony wouldn't want to stop Peter going to Plymouth if that one comes off.
"I know he said to Peter when he came to Stoke that he wouldn't stand in his way if an offer like this came along.
"Peter has been a valuable member of Tony's management staff over the past season, but there was always the possibility a man with his experience and record would get an offer from somewhere.
