da casino: Everton have definitely seen some better days in the Premier League. The Toffees are currently sitting in 16th and Marco Silva’s job is hanging on a thread that’s just waiting to snap. And seeing how things are unlikely to suddenly get fixed, it wouldn’t be a stretch to presume Everton might be looking at other options in the near future.
da pinup bet: With all of that in mind, here are three options for the club to target in the likely scenario in which Silva is eventually fired and the hot seat suddenly becomes available.
Mikel Arteta
Arteta still doesn’t have a solo manager stint under his belt but having spent more than three years under Pep Guardiola’s tutelage and having won two Premier League titles with him in the process, he could certainly be someone to watch out for.
As a player, the now 37-year-old assistant manager spent a significant portion of his career on Merseyside before moving to Arsenal and finally to retirement.

Arteta might seem like a risky option considering his lack of any management experience but he is also someone who looks every bit like the next big thing in the coaching gig.
Everton scooping Guardiola’s protegee just might be exactly what the doctor ordered.
Rafa Benitez
The 59-year-old Benitez is a name well-known to the world and especially to the Premier League.
Still, considering that he is currently in charge of Dalian Yifang over in the lucrative Chinese Superleague, it might be difficult for Everton to lure him back to the island. But his appointment does make sense on paper.

After all, Benitez has a clear record of winning and even more importantly, winning in England, having coached the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and most recently, Newcastle, who enjoyed quite a successful spell under the 59-year-old gaffer.
With his experience in managing teams both small and big, Rafa certainly looks like someone who could get the Toffees out of their slump.
Niko Kovac
At first, this looks rather unlikely.

After all, why would a former coach of a giant such as Bayern Munich accept a gig at a decent but far from elite Premier League side which is struggling to stay afloat? Well, even though Kovac’s name still rings loudly and seems like a profile levels too high, it becomes much less of a stretch when you think about it.
Apart from managing Croatia and Bayern, the now 38-year-old free agent doesn’t really have any other gigantic teams to put on his CV and after a failed project in Bavaria, he just might be looking for a lower-profile gig to get him back onto the horse.
Taking charge of Everton, who are currently in shambles, might just be enough of a challenge and yet a less pressuring stint that would potentially benefit both parties.
Worth a shot.
