Rangers are now stepping up their interest in welcoming a towering midfield star who Danny Rohl believes would be a cornerstone to the success of his side.
Rangers intensify interest in first Rohl signing
All it takes is one glimpse across Glasgow for Rangers fans to recognise the job that Rohl has done since arriving. The German is yet to lose a game in the Scottish Premiership and has quietly taken the Gers up to third and nine points behind leaders Hearts with a game in hand.
There’s a long way to go before those at Ibrox can start thinking about the Scottish Premiership title, but while Old Firm rivals Celtic stutter under Wilfried Nancy, Rangers have the perfect opportunity to mount a challenge that many believed was dead in the water.
Rohl, however, is still not entirely satisfied – telling reporters that he wants his side to be more “clinical” after their victory over Hibernian on Monday.
The January transfer window should only help the Rangers boss in pursuit of perfection, especially if the Gers get one of their top targets next month.
According to TeamTalk, Rangers are now intensifying their interest in signing Jens Hjerto-Dahl from Tromso in the January transfer window. Rohl reportedly sees the midfielder as the cornerstone of any success that his side may have.
Rohl personally keen to sign Hjerto-Dahl
It’s no surprise that Rangers have set their sights on the 20-year-old midfielder. He stands at a staggering 6’4 and would provide Rohl with the physical base at the heart of his side. As far as first signings go, Hjerto-Dahl would be an excellent and much-needed addition for Rangers next month.
Having already sent their scouts to watch the Tromso star, Rangers chiefs will be well aware of his talent by now. The Scottish giants will need to act quickly if they want to secure his signature, though, given that the likes of Sunderland are also eyeing a move for the midfielder.
Rangers flop who "offers nothing" must not start another game in 2025
This Glasgow Rangers flop should not start another game for Danny Rohl for the remainder of the month, and possibly beyond.

Rangers’ pursuit would also become even more urgent if Nicolas Raskin departed in the January transfer window. Without his influence, turning towards a player who’s scored four goals and assisted another seven from midfield would be crucial.
