WHAT HAPPENED?
Roberto said an emotional goodbye to Barcelona on Tuesday as his 18 years with the Blaugrana come to an end. A farewell event was put on for the defender, who made 373 first-team appearances for the Catalan giants, which was attended by club legends Xavi, Carles Puyol and Gerard Pique and by current Barca star Lamine Yamal.

"I'm going to be a supporter from now on," Roberto said. "I'm going to celebrate every title, every goal, every victory." The 32-year-old had to wipe away tears as he addressed the crowd.

Barcelona icon Lionel Messi, who won six La Liga titles alongside Roberto, recently sent the Spaniard a heartfelt message on Instagram following his exit. Club president Joan Laporta also praised Roberto for his efforts at Tuesday's event, saying: "I can only say thank you for your commitment and your gratitude. Barca is, and always will be, your home."

WHAT NEXT FOR ROBERTO?
Roberto's next destination isn't clear but he's reportedly interested in a reunion with Messi at MLS outfit Inter Miami. That would also mean linking up with former Barcelona team-mates Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets and Luis Suarez.
