The 29-year-old failed to make a tackle or an interception, so it’s easy to see why he received a poor match rating and came in for criticism from Lepkowski.

Townsend wasn’t the only West Brom player to struggle, though, and Corberan will now know the size of the job at hand if he didn’t realise before taking the job.
